Miss Little Comes of Age

The incomparable Miss Little offers up her debut album full of panache, alluring lyrics and strong melodies. This amazing dynamo has had a busy year winning an online songwriting competition to write lyrics and melody for a track, which saw her singing with the amazing Neil Finn and Crowded House at their Sydney concert.

“Miss Little is all about presenting the story of the song, in whatever way that blossoms. Sometimes it’s pretty and sometimes it’s challenging for the listener but it is always about being honest” Says the Sydney based: Miss Little front woman Sarah McCallum who is an accomplished composer, arranger and producer.

The album entitled "When Things Fall Apart and Into Place" is a dynamic new sound for the amazing Miss Little and already added to my must have music list for summer, the album's official launch is this Friday 5th August at Venue 505 - 280 Cleveland Street, Surry Hills - details on the poster below.

Hope to see you all there.

Char Char Char Madame!

I have been on a weight loss and fitness mission since January, and had to take some time off from blogging to focus on my goals. Exercise and healthy eating have been a challenge, and eating out hasn't been the easiest either. I've now lost 35kgs and only 25kgs away from my goal, and get so excited when I find a take away place that has great food and offers up healthy options.

I have been quite selfish and have been wanting to keep this amazing place all to myself, but unfortunately I'm not the only fan of Madam Char Char's on Crown Street Surry Hills. Beautifully cooked roast Chicken and an array of Healthy/Gourmet salads are just part of the amazing feasts on offer. Some of my favourite salads are Quinoa with roast eggplant, parsley, toasted nuts, mint and currents with a green tahini dressing and the Mashed eggplant and tomato salad with coriander and mint. For the burger fan there are always daily specials on offer like the Madam Morocco Burger which consists of Grilled marinated herb and spice chicken breast, tomato, lettuce, sweet corn, harissa and mint yoghurt. Need I say more? If you're not quite convinced yet then pop in to the store yourself and try some of the amazing food on offer or maybe even for something sweet like the Chocolate brownie Semolina, pistachio and coconut cake or check out their website www.madamcharchar.com.au.

Yummy Healthy and quick definitely fit in perfectly with my busy work and fitness schedule and it was even approved by my good friend and trainer Shaun Button :) p.s all pictures from the Madame Char Char website

PIENO on Crown

Pieno cafe on Crown Street, is my eye in the storm to get away from the bustle of the busy day. You can't miss it located right next door to Thomas Dux and right in front of the Trendy Winery.
The menu has a nice range of easy and quick gourmet panini, sandwiches, wraps and salads so basically something for everyone. If you're early the breakfast menu is delightful and will definitely fill you up. Great coffee, freshly squeezed juices and a nice selection of teas round up the delightful menu.
Now if it's a bit of inspiration you're in search of, then check out the decor and their amazing feature wall which definitely gave me some great ideas for my place.
See you there
Arrnott xoxo

One Teaspoon raises its flag on Crown St- Part 1

One Teaspoon has opened the doors to its amazing flagship store on Crown St in Surry Hills. Walking into the store you instantly get an idea of the vision and point of view of the brand and its design aesthetic. The store beautifully utilised every room of the corner terrace it has taken over, and each room has a different theme and colour scheme and plays host to an array of intriguing and eye catching props.

There are skulls scattered around of varying sizes and colours from silver to gold and black which I absolutely love, but my favourite room of course is the white room upstairs. the walls are mounted with antlers and there is a vintage leather saddle propped on a clothing rack, and in the corner a skull with horns on an antique white chest and draped on the other end of the clothing rack old ropes from a ship. Anyone that knows me will know these are definitely a few of my favourite things.

I'd recommend anyone who wants a visual treat and some creative inspiration or girls wanting to add something with an edge to your wardrobe pop in for a visit. You cant miss it it's right opposite the Trinity Hotel on Crown St in Surry Hills.

KIDO - Suprises for little kids and big ones to!

I love interior decorating and mixing and matching different era's and designer with op shop finds, at the moment I've being searching high and low for a vintage deer head or antlers and anything like it. Imagine my surprise when I saw these as I was walking past KIDO an amazing children's store on Crown Street.
They're made by a US designer and are absolutely amazing deers heads with a difference all made by hand and kid friendly, if a dear head isn't your cup of tea then maybe these soft hanging fishbowl's might take your fancy. This is most definitely not just a store for little kids but sure to please the big kid in you.
